our PVC hoop house under construction

An interesting idea to put the compost pile inside it.  Presumably that both maintains the heat in the pile which speeds up composting while also providing heat to the structure from the composting process.  Genius!

Thanks, Nathaniel! It's not an original idea... the Permaculture Design Manual recommends putting a greenhouse beside a chicken coop so that the chickens and plants can keep each other warm.  I think that may also be where I got the compost idea.

Good video Ben.  I just checked out The Winter Harvest Handbook from the library.  A farm in Maine uses hoop houses to harvest four seasons.  I had no idea!  It caters to the small scale commercial grower with a sustainable ideal, but has some great ideas any gardener can use.  I like the cultivator powered by an 18v cordless drill.
