Hospitality

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn - Omaha Zoo, which is 1.6 miles from the museum -- ask for the Woolhiser/Stallings Wedding.  There are other hotels near the museum, but you will find them more expensive.  We particularly recommend the Embassy Suites Omaha - Downtown/Old Market, which is just a block from the museum -- each suite has a sofa bed in a separate room, so you could easily share a suite and split the cost.  We may be able to negotiate other room deals later.

Transportation

Members of Jessie's extended family have graciously offered to help with transportation so that you need not rent cars during your stay.  Let us know your arrival and departure times, and they will be happy to pick you up at the airport, train station, etc.

Other Attractions

Many of you don't visit Omaha very often, so you may want to take the opportunity to visit some of its other attractions.  We particularly recommend

  • The Henry Doorly Zoo, one of the best in the nation (and largest - don't expect to see it all in a day!)
  • The Strategic Air and Space Museum (formerly Strategic Air Command)
  • The Joslyn Art Museum, former workplace of the bride
  • Wicked is currently playing at the Orpheum Theater downtown
  • and of course the Durham Museum of Western Heritage, more than just a beautiful place to get married

If you plan to visit any of these, please let us know, since you may be able to travel together with other guests and save yourself cab fare or parking fees.

Carbon Offsets

We are doing what we can to minimize the environmental impact of this event.  Please consider doing your part as well!  We recommend TerraPass.com, where you can offset the impact of your travel for just a few dollars.

Gift Registries

We are registered at Traveler's Joy and Target.
